
1,000 hunger deaths recorded in Ethiopia’s Tigray region following November cease-fire

Following conflict that ended in Tigray, Ethiopia, in November, hunger has become the leading cause of death in the region. Researchers said they verified 1,329 deaths from starvation.
The study is based on a household census conducted by health workers from August 15-29 in nine subdistricts of Tigray and 53 camps for internally displaced people.
