China's National Development Bank (NDB), a key policy bank, has successfully released 12 billion yuan in the form of three-year green financial bonds, with an issuance rate of 1.63 percent. The NDB has now reached a cumulative total of 189 billion yuan in terms of issued green financial bonds.

绿色金融债券是金融机构法人依法在银行间债券市场发行的、募集资金用于支持绿色产业项目并按约定还本付息的有价证券。绿色金融债券的推出，为金融机构通过债券市场筹集资金支持环保、节能、清洁能源、清洁交通等绿色产业项目创新了筹资渠道，有利于增加绿色信贷特别是中长期绿色信贷的有效供给，是建设绿色金融体系的一项重要举措，对于提高经济绿色化程度、推进我国生态文明建设、促进经济社会可持续发展具有积极意义。
