As China's first cross-border tourism cooperation zone, the China-Vietnam Detian-Ban Gioc Waterfall cross-border tourism cooperation zone went into operation on October 15, 2024.

中越德天（板约）瀑布跨境旅游合作区是中越两国2015年签订《中华人民共和国政府和越南社会主义共和国政府关于合作保护和开发德天（板约）瀑布旅游资源的协定》后，由中国广西壮族自治区与越南高平省共同建设和实施的项目。根据协定，双方同意在德天（板约）瀑布景区各划出2平方公里，设立跨境旅游合作区，2023年9月15日起试运营。合作区内，中国德天瀑布与越南板约瀑布相连，有奇特的喀斯特地貌和美丽的自然山水风光，构成亚洲第一大跨国瀑布。
据了解，合作区正式投入运营后，中越双方相关职能部门将对游客跨境游览模式进一步优化。一是扩大规模。跨境人数从每方每天限量500人提升至1000人，并根据单日跨境游客数量进行动态调整。二是延长时间。合作区开放时间由原来的北京时间10时至17时调整为9时至18时，每个旅游团在对方一侧游览时间由5个小时延长至6个小时。三是优化跨境手续。在全国首创“刷脸办”办证方式，游客在“桂警通办”小程序进行预约，可实现自动认证并完成预约。实现出入境、户政、交警“一窗通办”服务。持护照的游客无须办理其他证件，经景区运营方组团后，即可进入合作区游览。四是简化携带物品申报程序。简化对游客携带相机、摄像机等常见设备的申报程序，以新技术手段查验人员及携带物品，提供无感通关新体验。
