As of December 2022, the number of users of internet-based medical services in China had reached 363 million, accounting for 34 percent of the total number of Chinese netizens, said a report on China's internet development released by the China Internet Network Information Center.

互联网医疗，是互联网在医疗行业的新应用，其包括了以互联网为载体和技术手段的健康教育、医疗信息查询、电子健康档案、疾病风险评估、在线疾病咨询、电子处方、远程会诊，及远程治疗和康复等多种形式的健康医疗服务。

中国互联网络信息中心发布的第51次《中国互联网络发展状况统计报告》称，我国互联网医疗规范化水平持续提升：截至2022年12月互联网医疗用户同比增长21.7%，成为当年用户规模增长最快的应用。互联网医疗领域相关监管政策框架日益完善，引导互联网医疗行业规范化发展。
