Dorf um Dorf nimmt die ukrainische Armee Gebiete ein, die eben noch von Russland besetzt waren. Doch die Rückeroberung offenbart auch das Maß der russischen Zerstörung. Unser Reporter reiste in die Orte und traf Menschen, die jetzt aufatmen – aber nicht vergessen können.

Mühsam und auf ihren Gehstock gestützt, setzt Swetlana einen Fuß vor den anderen. Eine Helferin stützt sie zusätzlich unter dem Arm. Aber es geht nur sehr langsam auf dem letzten schmalen Steg, der noch über die bombardierte Brücke am Fluss Oskil in Kupjansk führt. Als die korpulente 80-Jährige endlich den Evakuierungsbus auf der anderen Seite erreicht hat, hieven vier Helfer sie auf einen der letzten freien Sitze. „Ich wollte mein Haus nicht verlassen“, sagt Swetlana, die wie viele hier ihren Nachnamen nicht veröffentlichen lassen möchte.
