मुस्लिम अकसरियती कस्बा, मलेरकोटला अब तक संगरूर जिले का हिस्सा था और यह संगरूर जिला हेडक्वार्टर से करीब 35 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर पड़ता था.

चंडीगढ़: ईद उल फितर के इस त्योहार के मौके पर पंजाब के वज़ीरे आला कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने रियासत के मुस्लिम अकसरियती इलाका मलेरकोटला को 23वां ज़िला बनाने का ऐलान किया है. वज़ीरे आला कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने ट्विटर के ज़रिए इसकी जानकारी दी.
