Österreichs Exit-Strategie aus der allgemeinen Impfpflicht

Als einziges EU-Land hatte die Regierung in Wien eine allgemeine Impfpflicht eingeführt. Kanzler Nehammer, der das Gesetz oft als alternativlos dargestellt hatte, stellt nun überraschend ihr Ende in Aussicht. Auf dem Spiel steht, wer künftig die Macht im Land behält.

Wenn ein Politiker in der Sonntagsausgabe der auflagenstarken „Kronen Zeitung“ eine Ansage macht, dann will er seinen Worten das größtmögliche Gewicht verschaffen. Österreichs Kanzler Karl Nehammer sagte dort am Wochenende zum Thema Impfpflicht: „Eine Kommission von Juristen und Ärztinnen und Ärzten beurteilt ständig neu, ob Impfen noch das rechtmäßige Mittel ist.“ Schließlich sei die Impfpflicht ein intensiver Eingriff.

Auf die Nachfrage, ob das Gesetz bald Geschichte sein könnte, äußerte sich Nehammer überraschend deutlich:
