WTC has brought real excitement in Test cricket, says New Zealand's Kane Williamson

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has said, "the World Test Championship has made Test cricket interesting & brought excitement in it."
ICC has posted a video on their Twitter handle in which Williamson can be seen saying, "It brought in real excitement. We saw that in declarations, games getting really tight. We saw it in the India-Australia series, our series here against Pakistan. Results had to be hard-fought for and you are willing to risk to win it." The skipper of Zealand will lead his side in the WTC final against India here from June 18. Before that, the Kiwis will have to play two Test matches against England at Lord's and Edgbaston. The No. 3 batsman, who represents SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, said facing India in the WTC final would be a challenge. "When we play against India, it has always been a fantastic challenge. It is really exciting to be playing them. It's really, really exciting to be involved in the final, obviously to win it would be that much better," he added. The New Zealand squad and other staff have already reached London two days back and all have been sent to quarantine at Southampton's hotel. New Zealand have to play a two-match Test series in England followed by the final match of the ICC World Test Championship. The Kiwi team will also play a four-day practice match against Somerset in Taunton from May 25. Kiwis will be missing their pace bowler Trent Boult in the first match as he will return to the team after spending some time with his family. But, The left-arm pacer may arrive for the second Test but he will surely be available for the WTC final against India. The first Test match between England and New Zealand is to be played at the Lord's ground in London from 2 June, while the second Test will be played from 10 June in Birmingham.More Related News
