Supreme Court ready to hear Pegasus project case

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the Pegasus project espionage case on Friday. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition by veteran journalists N. Ram and Shashi Kumar.
The petition, filed by journalists, sought a direction for an independent investigation by its sitting or retired judge into the Pegasus spying scandal. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, while mentioning the matter before a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana and Justice Surya Kant, said that the civil liberties of citizens, politicians, opposition parties, journalists and court staff have been kept under watch. He stressed that this is an issue which has been engulfing the world including India and the issue needs urgent hearing. After Sibal's arguments, the bench said it may hear the matter next week.More Related News
