In a breath of fresh air in these testing times of pandemic, efforts of Punjab Government have borne fruit as regular Oxygen supply through air route from different parts of the country in being arranged in punjab.
Chandigarh: In a breath of fresh air in these testing times of pandemic, efforts of Punjab Government have borne fruit as regular Oxygen supply through air route from different parts of the country in being arranged in punjab. Disclosing this here today members of the State COVID Control Room (O2), said that the oxygen supply had started from April 27 through air route and they have managed to get a total of 804.26 metric tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) till date by operating 30 flights with assistance of IAF. It was informed that due to the long journey involved in engaging to take trucks to and fro Bokaro and Hazira from where the state of Punjab get its LMO quota , the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had decided to conceptualise new ways to get the life saving medical supplies and then the Punjab Government had decided to air lift the oxygen tankers to Bokaro and Hazira plants from Chandigarh air base and to bring them back by road . The decision remarkably turned the situation in the state’s favour and the state was able to obtain adequate oxygen supplies.More Related News
