The Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), citing security on behalf of the country's home ministry, has been ordered that on April 16, Friday, a four-hour social media platform across the country.
The order effectively shuts down all social media platforms in Pakistan including Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and The telegram. The ministry told Geo News that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has banned social media platforms on their orders. Pakistan has banned all social media apps across the country on Friday due to violent Islamic groups. According to Reuters, a telecommunications authority official said that the move has been taken to maintain the security system in the country.
