Monsoon Session: Parliament may be disrupted again over Pegasus project, farmers' issue
News 24
The second week of the monsoon session of Parliament will end today but there is no prospect of smooth functioning. Barely nine hours of work has been done in the last eight sessions of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Both the houses of Parliament have been adjourned several times in the past few days due to the opposition protesting in Parliament over the Pegasus project, agricultural laws and other issues. On Friday also, there is a possibility of uproar in both the houses of Parliament. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the third time till 2 pm on Thursday as opposition members continued their protest over Pegasus and other issues. When the House met at 12.30 pm, Rajendra Agrawal, who was presiding over the proceedings, took the papers to be placed by the ministers. As the protest continued, he adjourned the house till 2 pm. Earlier in the day, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had expressed displeasure over the indecent behavior of some opposition members. Om Birla had warned the MPs who created ruckus in the House and said that if this continues, then I will have to take action against those members to maintain the dignity of the House. Some members of the House are reiterating such incidents which are against the rules of Parliament.More Related News
