Madan Lal's CAC, Neetu David's selection committee under scanner after WV Raman's step down

Neetu David's selection committee and Madan Lal's CAC have come under the scanner of the BCCI after former opener WV Raman stepped down as the head coach of the Indian women's team.
He is considered one of the best trainers in India. The CAC of Madan Lal, Sulakshana Naik, and former fast bowler RP Singh re-elected Ramesh Powar for this responsibility in his place. Powar was removed from this post in 2018. According to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee on Madan Lal's panel, questions are being raised about their ineligibility. "Maddi paaji (that's how Madan Lal is addressed in the Indian cricket fraternity) celebrated his 70th birthday on March 20, 2021. The BCCI, in its appeal to the Supreme Court against some of the reforms, doesn't ask for a roll-back of age-cap of 70 years. So how come Madan Lal was allowed to sit in a CAC meeting?" a senior member asked. Similarly, another member of the CAC, Sulakshana Naik, is the younger sister of Sanjay Naik, president of the Mumbai Cricket Association. Powar was the coach of Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 domestic tournament. On Thursday, he returned as the head coach of the Indian women's cricket team. A source aware of the matter said that the manner in which the eight candidates were interviewed shows that Naik had already made up his mind that Raman is not to be retained as coach after a bad series. She also knew that she had no role in team selection. The team is selected by a committee headed by Naik's former teammate Neetu David.More Related News
