FC Real Madrid kept the pressure on Atlético Madrid after beating Granada 4–1 in the Spanish Football League La Liga at the Nuevo Los Cármenes. They are now only two points behind Atletico.
The victory at the Nuevo Los Cármenes means Real Madrid are now unbeaten in their last 16 LaLiga games (11 wins). The Whites haven't lost a game in the domestic competition in over three months. Moreover, Atletico have 80 points from 36 matches, while Real Madrid have 78 points from the same number of matches. Now that there are only two rounds of matches left, Barcelona also remain in the race for the league title. They have 76 points from 36 matches. Barca had played a 3–3 draw against Levante on Tuesday. Fourth-ranked team Sevilla (74 from 36 matches) are also not far behind. In other matches, Villarreal retained hopes of a place in the Europa League by defeating Real Valladolid 2–0. Sixth-ranked Real Betis Energia Plus played a 1–1 draw from Eiber. Benzema gets his 29th goal of the season.
