According to the special public prosecutor K S Benoy, the convict raped the minor, who was staying in the neighbourhood, when she had gone to buy fish from him at his house. The accused had taken the girl forcibly inside his house and raped her.
The minor got pregnant and later delivered a baby. The DNA tests reports showed that Krishnankutty was the biological father of the baby.
