Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth bows out of French Open after he lost to world no. 1 Kento Momota on Wednesday in Paris.
Srikanth was seen giving his best shots as he played against Kento. Indian star shuttler played amazing shots but failed to win the first set as the opponent marked win by 18-21. He was able to give a bottleneck competition and so much so, that he defeated Kento 22-20 in the second set.
The world no. 1 player Momota finally snatched the win from the jaws of Indian shuttler by winning third set 19-21 in French Open.
It is the 11th consecutive defeat for Srikanth against Momota. Earlier in the day, mixed doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won their match against Denmark's Mathias Thyrri and Mai Surrow 21-19, 21-15, here at Court 1.
