Clemson Routs Alabama to Win the National Championship

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Clemson interrupted Alabama’s bid to extend its college football dynasty Monday night and showed it’s building a dynasty of its own. The Tigers beat the Crimson Tide 44-16 at Levi’s Stadium in the College Football Playoff championship game, led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence and his cool, strong-armed passing. Lawrence was 20-for-32 with 347 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first true freshman since Oklahoma’s Jamelle Holieway in 1985 to start and lead his team to a national title. ... ...
