Lively to give out free hearing aids after Post column on high cost

Dear Readers: Thanks to my column about the difficulty and cost of obtaining hearing aids, a hearing aid company called Lively contacted me to say it is willing to give away three pairs. It says this will be at no cost at all, even though the devices usually go for $1,650 a pair. It will also give you a hearing test for free. Why? Lively’s representatives contacted me after I recently wrote about the cost of hearing aids and how Medicare didn’t cover them. Lively says its hearing aids are awesome. So I said “prove it” by giving some away. It agreed on three pairs.
