Domenica Vacca closes flagship NYC store

Designer Domenica Vacca has found himself in a very unfashionable place: on the curb. After a months-long legal battle with his landlord in Manhattan, Vacca closed his 3-year-old flagship store at 15 W. 55th St. over the holiday weekend. A sign in the front window of the swanky store, which sold $3,700 smoking jackets, $580 suede loafers and $1,950 handbags, said “We are working on something special” — as employees boxed up the remaining clothes in the store, which included a salon, cafe and private club. The salon remains open as another company took over the operation earlier.
