Yankees’ Gleyber Torres manages to stay on field after plunking

PETERSBURG, Fla. — In a season dominated by injuries to key names, the Yankees had their fingers firmly crossed Friday night that Gleyber Torres didn’t suffer a serious injury when he was hit on the right arm. “I don’t think so,’’ manager Aaron Boone said when asked if there was a concern about the shortstop, who got clipped on the right elbow in the eighth inning of the Yankees’ 4-3 win over the Rays on a pitch from Casey Sadler. “I think it was a little emotional with what he has gone through with elbow stuff.
