Ice Cube still eyes bid for Fox’s regional sports networks

Rapper Ice Cube is still interested in acquiring all 22 of the regional sports TV networks up for sale by Disney, despite getting rebuffed by Viacom as a financial backer. Ice Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson Sr., and his business partner, Jeff Kwatinetz, confirmed their interest in the RSNs during a Thursday conference call to discuss their expanding Big3 basketball league. Both are co-founders of the 3-on-3 summer league, which, they said, will no longer have Fox as its broadcast partner when it kicks off its third season on June 22. “The company Fox is just a little different now,” Kwatinetz said, referring to Disney’s deal to acquire Fox’s entertainment assets.
